Why did you choose your major? What interested you in this particular field of study?
I chose Business Law because I was interested in how strategy and regulation come together to help businesses run effectively. While studying the legal side of businesses, I also started to see how important communication is in helping companies build trust, manage challenges, and move forward. That’s what led me to explore communications as another way to support how organizations operate. Through my courses, I learned that by helping shape a clear message, keeping teams aligned, and connecting with the people they serve, companies can build stronger reputations and focus on building a stronger connection with consumers.

What career aspirations did you have when you started at CSUN?
When I started at CSUN, I studied Biology with hopes of becoming a doctor so I could help and advocate for others. Although I eventually pivoted, that drive to advocate for people has stayed with me in every path I’ve pursued.

Did you do any internships or other experiential learning? If so, how did that help you on your career path?
I was fortunate to land internships at two major companies: Live Nation Entertainment and Skybound Entertainment. At Live Nation, I was part of the US Concerts Communications team, where I helped strategize creative ways to amplify upcoming global and domestic concerts and music festivals. At Skybound Entertainment, I played a key role in developing communication materials and strategies for both the CEO and some of the company’s most beloved franchises, including The Walking Dead, Fear The Walking Dead, and Invincible.

These internships helped me develop the skills to craft compelling narratives, communicate effectively across teams, and create strategies that resonate with diverse audiences. They also gave me hands-on experience in fast-paced, high-impact environments where storytelling and brand voice truly matter.

What have you done since graduating? What was your professional path during and after college?
Since graduating, I’ve secured four feature film credits at NBCUniversal with DreamWorks Animation, contributed to global communications and marketing campaigns at NBC’s entertainment division, and led and supported senior executives and marketing and communications strategies at Hulu, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, including Emmy Award-winning television shows Abbott Elementary and Only Murders in the Building, as well as Hulu’s Black Friday promotion.

I later moved to New York City to support JPMorgan Chase’s global communications team and executives, where I played an instrumental role in shaping the firm’s media relations strategy during a volatile stock market and a pivotal election year. I’m now based in Los Angeles, leading and supporting  communications strategies at MGA Entertainment’s beloved consumer franchises, including Bratz and Little Tikes.

What was your favorite class you took and why?
My favorite class at CSUN was my Business Law 280 class because it helped me realize how much I enjoy problem-solving and understanding how rules and regulations shape the way companies operate. It broke down complex legal concepts in a way that felt relevant and applicable, and it gave me a strong foundation for thinking strategically and making informed decisions. I’ve carried these skills into every role since.

What advice do you have for current CSUN Nazarian students?
My advice for current CSUN Nazarian students is to stay curious and open to unexpected paths. Don’t be afraid to explore opportunities outside of your major. Some of the most valuable lessons and career moves come from stepping outside your comfort zone. Build genuine relationships with professors, classmates, and mentors, because your network will be just as important as your resume. And finally, trust that your time at CSUN is preparing you more than you realize. Take advantage of every resource and believe in your ability to make an impact, regardless of what your background is.
