Gurucul is currently seeking highly-motivated, recent graduates for the role of Cybersecurity Engineer. This position requires working with customers to implement, operationalize, and train on our cutting-edge cybersecurity analytics platform. Includes up to 25% travel. Work includes initial implementation; enabling detection models / policies; threat hunting; building reusable artifacts like architecture blueprints, integration patterns, use cases, automation scripts, security operations; as well as providing pre-sales support with product demos, technical deep-dive workshops, POCs, and presentations.
This position is full-time, on-site in Los Angeles, CA, at our El Segundo headquarters.
Responsibilities:
- Delivery of efficient, maintainable, and robust Gurucul security analytics platform
- Follow installation standards, project plans, and related documentation to ensure a high level of success during the implementation process
- Develop and build data ingestion pipelines using various technologies
- Install, integrate, deploy Gurucul products in the cloud and client environments and provide post production support
- Gather, link, and analyze data from various sources
- Review outcomes from Gurucul Security Analytics product, and be able to interpret and share the information to various audiences
- Project documentation including technical requirements, architecture, design and run-book
- Develop system designs and work with customer as appropriate throughout planning, development, and implementation processes
- Work with multiple project teams, including Gurucul global operations, with competing deadlines
- Serve as a technical resource; provide tech knowledge and capabilities as team member and individual contributor
- Maintain familiarity with support versions of our product, platform, procedures and processes and technology
- Conduct onsite or in-house customer training sessions
- Communicate with various areas regarding their roles and representing customer performance requirements
- Direct and perform follow-up as necessary to complete projects and elicit customer satisfaction
- Report project status, schedules, issues, resolutions, and completion
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor or Masters degree in computer science, cybersecurity engineering preferred; candidates must have already completed their degree or must be graduating within the next eight (8) weeks
- Experience with any of the following technologies: Linux, Windows, Active Directory/LDAP, Cloud Platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), MySQL, Netflow, PCAP, Syslog, TCP/IP preferred
- Programming skill set in at least any one of the programming language is a must (Python, Java, Powershell, C#, .Net, Shell Scripting)
- Knowledge of big data technology such as Hadoop, Spark, MongoDB is preferred
- Understanding of common network services (web, email, file transfer, etc.), network vulnerabilities, and network attack patterns
- Entry- level certifications in system administration, Linux, Windows, or cloud technologies is preferred (for example, CompTIA+)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
