Audit Staff/Staff Accountant
We are a CPA firm located in El Segundo, California and we are looking to fill an audit staff position immediately. We take pride in the culture we have created within the firm and need candidates who will help maintain the culture and contribute to our rising success.

Our expectation is that any candidate applying for this position will bring a positive attitude and be ready to learn! We expect staff to ask questions to find out “why” rather than just getting the answer.
We also expect any candidate to be focused on enhancing their career, not just get a job. You must have taken some initiative and interest in applying for or taking the CPA exams.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the seniors, managers and partners on tax planning, tax preparation, audit, review and compilation engagements, budgeting, financial modeling and some light bookkeeping
• Ask a ton of questions and LEARN
• Assist the team in making sure that all engagements are run efficiently, effectively, on time and on budget
• Develop client relationships
1 year from hire date – Success is defined as:
• You brought an awesome attitude and personality to our office environment
• You asked about 10 million questions and learned a lot about taxes, audits, reviews, compilations and our clients’ businesses
• You understand the basic flow of transactions in all accounting cycles (Sales/Receipts/Receivables, Purchases/Payables/Payments, Payroll, Inventory, Cash Management)
• You can now create a set of simple financial statements including the notes to the financial statements in Caseware with moderate supervision
• When you get stumped, you are very good at using your resources (research, other staff, seniors, managers or partners) to help you get to the information that you need
• You are effectively utilizing CCH Checkpoint, Caseware/Caseview, Prosystem Fx, BNA, ProfitCents and TValue
• You have consistently communicated effectively with all seniors, managers and partners regarding the status of all your jobs on a timely basis
• You have created a positive impression on our clients and you are developing into a good resource for clients and any new staff
• You went above and beyond the “normal” staff accountant and are developing an understanding of the clients’ businesses and industries for each engagement
Requirements:
• A positive attitude and a brain ready to learn
• Bachelor’s degree
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills (you will have direct client contact and are expected to be able to speak clearly and write e-mails that make sense)
• Progress towards your CPA designation
• Basic or advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word)
