Position Overview: As the Market Research Innovation Intern – AI Specialist on our Innovation team, you will play a crucial role in developing and refining AI-driven tools and methodologies. You’ll bring your expertise or strong interest in Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance our research capabilities and will also lend support with the development and refining of market research innovation tools.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine custom GPT models for firm-specific applications.
- Create and manage Python scripts integrated with OpenAI or other LLM APIs for sophisticated data analysis.
- Collaborate with the innovation team to implement and optimize AI tools across varied market research projects.
- Provide day-to-day support on client projects, including data analysis and report generation.
We are a ‘Virtual First’ company, so this position will be remote. However, applicants must be based in the Los Angeles area. The pay rate for this role is $20/hour.

Qualifications:
- Current undergraduate or graduate student, ideally in a related field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or Cognitive Science
- Available to work 10+ hours per week (20+ hours per week is preferred)
- Experience with fine-tuning AI and Large Language Models (OpenAI/Gemini APIs)
- Skilled at Python; preferred experience with simulation Python libraries (Mesa, Faker, etc.)
- Skilled at using version control systems (Git, Codeberg, etc.)
- Experience or projects analyzing or simulating behavioral data
- Able to work independently on ambiguous or multi-step technical problems with limited oversight
- Demonstrated experience developing prototypes or minimum-viable versions of tools or scripts (class, research, or personal projects are fine)
- Strong prioritization and problem-solving skills — can identify what tasks need to be completed first, ask questions to reach shared understanding, and adjust direction quickly in response to feedback
- Can learn the basics of market research concepts quickly if not already familiar with them
