Under immediate supervision, the Front Office Assistant is responsible for greeting and assisting all faculty, students and members of the public, both by phone and in the office. The Office Assistant will require training to understand student eligibility for all math courses. Daily duties include: front reception, filing, typing, basic computer knowledge, using copier/scanner, stocking supply rooms and copy rooms, posting flyers, distributing mail, running various errands and making deliveries on campus.

Duties:
- Responsible for answering, screening and directing a high volume of telephone calls, taking messages and providing information to callers
- Greet and assist individuals entering the department
- Provide general clerical office support (e.g., process forms, update departmental logs and spreadsheets, distribute mail, update bulletin boards, run errands, place calls to students)
- Assist students with enrollment issues, general inquires, and make-up exams
- Monitor and stock office supplies in main department and mail room(s)
- Post signs and posters to advertise department events in designated locations on campus
- Assist with special events, projects and/or other duties as required
Purpose:
This position works along with the departmental staff to assist faculty members and students with their questions, to provide administrative support to the department staff and to facilitate the daily operation of the math department.
Hours: A maximum of 20 hours per week
Wage: $16.00/ hour
Length of FWS employment: Guaranteed semester employment with opportunity for rehire depending on job performance.
