Hourly Rate: $16.00/ hr. for a maximum of 450 hrs.

Under the direction of the Coordinator for Community and Volunteer Involvement, the Matador Involvement Center is seeking an energetic, creative, and organized person to assist with the development, implementation, marketing, promotion, and evaluation of volunteer programs and resources. The Volunteer Programs Graduate Assistant will primarily be responsible for assisting student employees with the implementation and promotion of university-sponsored volunteer events, building community partnerships with non-profit organizations, connecting students to volunteer opportunities, developing and co-facilitating workshops, supporting supervisor and student assistants with projects and events, as well as providing one–on–one support to student assistants with projects.
Assist in the planning and implementing of UWS program goals and objectives for the year.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to Unified We Serve (UWS) student assistants; programs and events assistants.
Support student assistants with programming and development of annual volunteer events.
Assist with building community partnerships in alignment with program’s goals and objectives.
Assist with building and maintaining community partnerships to allow for on-going participation in volunteer service opportunities for UWS members.
Utilize online platforms, including social media and MataSync, to promote UWS events and volunteer opportunities.
Assist with recruiting CSUN students into UWS by attending events such as NSO, Meet the Clubs, recruitment fairs, etc.
Assist with the supervision of UWS volunteers during programs and events.
Assist students in identifying volunteer/service opportunities within and outside of UWS.
Serve as a resource to UWS Committee Leaders for the implementation of service projects, and the recruitment of volunteers for program and projects.
Assist with leadership of Committee Leaders to develop, promote, and implement themed events.
Design and facilitate leadership straining, workshops, and clinics; assisting with the development and implementation of leadership training for Committee Leaders.
Create and implement marketing strategies.
Conduct research and assessment when needed; assist with conducting qualitative and quantitative assessment for program development.
Participate in MIC staff meetings, trainings, professional development and other activities.
Opportunity for collaboration with CSUN Food Pantry and other basic need programs by assisting to identify campus and community groups, students, faculty, staff, and clubs & organizations for possible partnerships.
Ability to take direction, as well as, initiate tasks independently (pro-active, self-motivated).
