The RSP Office is currently hiring a Graduate Student to assist with research development, marketing, and communications. Expected start date is August 2023 but potentially can start June 2023, pending funding.
Background:
The Research and Sponsored Programs (RSP) office manages all grants and contracted (“sponsored”)
programs for the University. It oversees Federal compliance and research integrity, including trainings and review for responsible conduct of research, protection of human subjects, animal care and use, conflicts of interest, export control, and intellectual property. It also has administrative oversight of all campus Centers and Institutes.
Duties:
Job duties include but are not limited to:
• Assist with development of bi-monthly newsletter:
o Administer email marketing platform (e.g., Mailchimp)
o Prepare news items related to department announcements and grant proposal development
o Conduct funding searches using grants databases (e.g., Pivot-RP, Grants.gov, Grants.ca.gov)
and draft summaries of funding opportunity announcements
o Review external funding announcements from public and private sponsors; verify eligibility
and alignment with CSUN’s research, scholarship, and creative activity interests
• Curate research success stories for RSP website:
o Review awarded grant proposals
o Interview faculty and student participants in funded research and sponsored programs
o Write news articles and collect images from principal investigators
Qualifications:
• Advanced reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Demonstrated organizational skills to independently coordinate a variety of tasks
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Ability to learn new technology platforms (e.g., Cayuse SP, Pivot-RP, Mailchimp)
• Must be enrolled in a graduate program and will be at CSUN for at least the next 18 months
• Available up to 20 hours per week
