NOW HIRING: Business Development Specialist (BDS Sales) – Marlton, NJ (Hybrid)
The primary purpose of the Business Development Specialist (BDS) is to acquire and maintain new Property and Casualty clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responding to Customer Inquiries:
- Develop new business and maintain relationships with the client by providing guidance for strategic initiatives regarding Property and Casualty Insurance. (P&C)
- Schedule meetings with new opportunities for P&C.
New Business:
- Gather the necessary information regarding the accounts, complete required application, and submit this information to the internal marketing department.
- Prepare (when necessary) and present proposals and plans to prospective clients.
- Attach necessary documentation to management system. (Epic)
Existing Business:
- Proactively outreach to clients on annual basis for renewal.
- Meet monthly with Account Manager regarding service needs of current clients.
- Communicate and present renewal options to the client working with the Account Manager.
- Managing current book of business.
- Responsible for collecting past due amounts from insured clients according to the agency accounts receivable policy.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must maintain a New Jersey Producer License. (Property & Casualty) REQUIRED
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance to meet HIG standards. REQUIRED
- Must adhere to all systems, procedures, and insurance company regulations.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Must maintain insurance license completing the required continuing education (CE) courses.
- Must maintain the confidentiality of all confidential information during employment.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely both verbal and written.
- Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
