Scope of the Position:
- Based in the CLS division headquarters in Tewksbury, MA, this role provides strategic oversight and HR management to two key organizations – the Commercial Operations organization and the Global Integrated Supply Chain (GISC) organization, providing tactical HR support for direct clients in these organizations
- Ensures client groups have the right number, structure and type of talent required to execute the organization’s global capacity strategy while managing a broad range of strategic and/or optimization projects in the HR workflow space.
- Leads/mentors a team of HR professionals to, as a team, to develop and deliver the global HR processes, people and plans to meet business objectives and deploy talent strategies to grow pipeline depth and sustainability
Responsibilities:
- Establishes and executes on talent strategies within the organization and division, including ensuring the client group has the right number and type of talent required to execute strategy and achieve desired business results
- Ensures client groups realizes required levels of employee productivity and performance excellence required to execute division strategy and achieve desired business results
- Scales the type and level of HR service provided in anticipation of the specific needs of the division’s business portfolio and in conjunction with the business strategy
- Ensures the successful implementation of global HR business processes within the client groups
- Provides “high touch” HR expertise to staff and employees; partners with leaders to “raise the bar” on performance
- Leads and participates on various projects designed to drive business strategies using performance excellence and project management methodology.
- Ensures a positive work environment and operates as “One Corning” in support of Corning’s Values; holds client group managers accountable for establishing and maintaining a positive work environment
- Partners with HRM’s and client business teams to identify and implement a compelling employee value proposition that enables them to attract and retain the number and type of talent required to close talent gaps
- Develops team members to reach potential and fill critical succession plans. Maintains an “eye for talent” for the HR function and business
- Identifies and prioritizes current and future talent requirements which could affect achievement of group operational objectives
- Effectively deploys performance management and rewards processes/practices within client group to drive required levels of employee accountability for desired performance results and ensure retention of top performers.
- Effectively deploys HR shared service delivery model in support of HR transformational goals and required levels of client support
- Deploys talent strategies to grow pipeline depth and diversity for both the division, location, and corporation.
- Leads performance improvement and organizational development projects for client group.
- Leads and champions division pipeline development processes in support of diversity, equity, and inclusion growth initiatives
- In partnership with Division HR Director and HR staff, identifies the client group’s human capital priorities over the next one to two years and the type and level of support required from HR to effectively address these priorities
- Collaborates closely with the CLS HR staff to ensure standardization across regions and divisions and ensure that the type and level of services fully support achievement of division business objectives
- Plays a vital role in collaboration of development for the global HR team, ensuring annual development objectives and plans are in place and executed
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, focus on Human Resources Management or Industrial/Labor relations preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant HR experience (generalist/specialist) or equivalent required
- Progressive experience in the HR function required
- Experience working with global business teams and senior level leaders as main client
- Exceptional relationship building skills; able to gain trust of diverse stakeholders
- Solid business acumen; able to engage business clients and develop tailored and creative solutions that factor in financial implications of decisions
- Experience in aligning client group leadership around organization direction, design, and governance/decision rights
- Successful track record in the deployment of global HR business processes or programs
- Experience in designing and implementing effective organization structures and work processes that improve client group ability to achieve desired results— new business/product startup or expansion and mature business optimization
- Strong executive presence and verbal executive communication skills with the ability to simplify and synthesize messaging to key audiences
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal; able to synthesize the most critical insights from large amounts of information and develop logical storylines in PowerPoint and listening for understanding demonstrating strong overall communication skills
- Ability to build a business case and recommendations that include guiding principles, vision, metrics, implementation, etc.
- Strong leadership, collaboration and influencing skills with global audiences and stakeholders

Travel Requirement: This role is based in the Tewksbury, MA division headquarters office (required) ~20-30% travel
