We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team! Duties
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliation using software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken.
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Maintain detailed records of transactions in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental regulations.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements to support management decision-making.
- Conduct monthly account analysis, general ledger reconciliation, and double-entry bookkeeping to verify data integrity.
- Support payroll processing, tax filings, and budget tracking while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Assist with audit preparations by organizing financial documents and providing detailed account analysis.
- Utilize technical accounting skills for complex transactions involving government grants or non-profit accounting standards when applicable.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with a strong understanding of corporate accounting principles.
- Hands-on experience with popular accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards, governmental accounting practices (if applicable), and non-profit accounting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with bank reconciliation, account analysis, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation processes.
- Strong understanding of debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping systems, and financial report writing.
- Experience managing accounts payable/receivable workflows and payroll processing is preferred.
- Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately at high speed along with excellent attention to detail for account reconciliation tasks.
