To produce production parts and assemblies using injection molding machinery and other types of manufacturing equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following and other duties may be assigned as needed. In addition, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility at a 3 level or higher (range 1 to 5 level) to be considered performing satisfactory in the position:
- Operates molding machines and other equipment in accordance with production’s needs.
- Produces parts in accordance with Work Order, verbal & written instructions.
- Produces parts within target machine cycles and/or production hourly and shift targets.
- Produces parts that meet the quality requirements as indicated on the drawings, sample part and inspection diagrams.
- Inspects manufactured parts as they are produced.
- Bag and package parts as required.
- Accurately records part counts on production log sheet as indicated on the form.
- Follows all relevant procedures and work instruction in the Plastek Quality Management System.
- Maintains work areas in a clean, orderly and safe manner to include returning tools to designated areas.
- Adheres to established policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
- Communicates daily with co-workers on production progress, status or quality issues.
- Notifies management of product discrepancies, equipment malfunctions and /or personal injuries.
- Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with Plastek Employee Handbook and training requirements.
- Able to support more than one machine as assigned.
- Provide machine coverage during break and lunch periods.
- Participate in Cross Training activities.
- Work as directed.
EQUIPMENT USED:
Molding machines and related manufacturing equipment. Inspection instruments and testing
equipment. Hand tools such as cutters, trimmers and exacto type knives.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous injection molding machine operator experience.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Proven experience in injection molding manufacturing environment.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
N/A
LANUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret & create common documents related to the Injection Molding Manufacturing; work orders, production logs, inspection diagrams etc. Ability to respond verbally and in writing to common inquiries from coworkers in a positive, proactive manner. Must have the ability to appropriately, converse with Employees & coworkers when communicating daily plans and activities. Bi-lingual in Spanish and English would be desired, but not required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Open machine doors and gates frequently. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus as well as accurate color vision.
