The Passport Mentor Program is only available to juniors in the Passport Programs, meaning:

  • 3rd Years in the 4-Year Program
  • 1st Years in the 2-Year Accelerated Program.

As a Mentee you will be expected to act in a professional and ethical manner. Your conduct should make your Mentor want to continue to mentor future students from this college. The following is expected of you as a Mentee representing the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics at California State University, Northridge: Remain drug and alcohol-free, and avoid the use of controlled substances Maintain confidentiality of projects and personnel Changes to scheduled meetings should be clearly communicated with your Mentor Problems with your Mentorship must be reported to the Career Education & Professional Development Center If you feel victimized by a mentorship-related incident, contact the Career Education & Professional Development Center immediately Dress appropriately for the setting Follow through on commitments Do not conduct personal business during meeting times with your Mentor (cell phones, e-mail, internet) Keep a positive attitude Keep an open mind, avoid jumping to conclusions, and try to make informed judgments Be observant – see how your Mentor organizes their ideas and responds to situations Communicate – keep your Mentor informed in a useful succinct way, listen, and ask questions Be fair, considerate, honest, trustworthy, and cooperative Assert yourself and your ideas in an appropriate and tactful manner Seek feedback from your Mentor and accept suggestions for corrective changes Accept constructive criticism and continuously strive to improve Seek to enhance your professional effectiveness by improving skills and acquiring new knowledge Abide by any other terms mutually agreed upon with your Mentor

I agree to abide by the requirements that govern the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics Mentor Program and have received a copy of these requirements. In submitting this application I acknowledge full release of any liability on the part of the company/Mentor, California State University, Northridge, and the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics for any injury sustained while engaged in any activity associated with this mentorship. I understand that CSUN provides no insurance coverage for me, including personal liability.
