The Opportunity
As a Procurement Representative 1, you will provide support to the project team with basic procurement transaction activities (equipment, services and subcontracts) and develop an understanding of other operations within the Procurement Department. May be required to support other procurement duties, including expediting, procurement administration, closeout and proposal development. Receives direct supervision.
Duties may include:
- Prepares contract documents and bidders list, as assigned
- Prepares, issues and supports the bidding process
- Coordinates the evaluation process through the distribution of quotations, preparation of the commercial portion of the bid tabulation, and collaboration with engineering and construction regarding the technical and constructability evaluations
- Coordinates the negotiation process to include preparing the commercial negotiation positions and organizing negotiation meetings with vendors and the project team
- Coordinates the award and conforming process
- Learns and becomes proficient in the basic functions of the vendor database to provide and track vendor information
- Files appropriate documents and follows Corporate and project filing rules
Preferred Qualifications
- BA or BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, Technical / Engineering, Construction Management or related field (preferred)
- Relevant experience may be substituted for a degree

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience without a degree. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Work Environment
Professionals located near a Black & Veatch office have the option of a hybrid work model that offers a balance between working together in person and the flexibility of remote work. Our hybrid work model means you will work three days in the office and two days from another location of your choice.
