Working in collaboration with the Program Director(s) and Program Coordinator, the Student Outreach Ambassador is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of the BSM communication, public relations, and outreach activities with campus and community partners.
Qualifications
- Mature undergraduate or graduate student
- Knowledge, understanding/appreciation of African/Black/African American culture
- Excellent organization and presentation skills
- Strong writing, speaking, and time management skills
- Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas and work independently
- Highly flexible and able to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong administrative and technological skills (Zoom, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Social Media, etc.)
- Available 10-12 hours per week, with flexible working hours
- Mature and self-reliant
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of strategic outreach campaigns with campus and community partners
- Work closely with the Program Coordinator
- Develop and administer virtual and physical community outreach initiatives
- Develop professional relationships with all BSM constituents
- Work with the Creative Team to create culturally relevant marketing and outreach materials
- Correspond with all stakeholders and attend events regarding BSM projects
- Create and administer presentations to students and campus community partners
- Attend BSM outreach team and staff meetings
- Other tasks as assigned
