JOB SUMMARY:The Land Search Manager is responsible for the creation and maintenance of a land database that will identify and track new land opportunities for the Division. The position will work closely with the Land Acquisition team to search and locate new land opportunities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify new land purchase opportunities using GIS (Geospatial Information Systems) aerial mapping software. Integrate the mapping information into KB’s customized database to identify and track new land opportunities.
- Analyze and recommend new opportunities using: GMA, CMA’s, Market Strategy Matrix, submarket permit activity and unit availability.
- Perform outreach to landowners on target opportunities and provide warm leads for senior land acquisition staff to consummate transactions. Identify and recommend off-market deals for acquisition.
- Identify and analyze competitor locations, product offerings, price points, and acquisition costs. Provide recommendations after analyzing the data. Update all competitor information into GIS mapping system.
- Research publicly available information, for new acquisition opportunities, including, but not limited to, general plans and planning commission and city council agendas.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Preferred major in Geospatial Mapping (GIS) Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Planning, and/or Finance within the real estate or homebuilding discipline.
Experience:
- Minimum 3-4 years of residential or commercial land acquisition experience or relevant industry
- Market research and data analytics experience helpful
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
- Knowledge of GIS (Geospatial Information Systems) and or “Land-related” databases
- Strong organizational skills; able to handle multiple deadlines and create functional systems for handling data
- Action oriented, with the drive to push projects to successful closure
- Strong ability to work within a team setting, inclusive of other’s ideas
- Strong verbal and written communication, with the ability to take complex concepts and communicate succinctly and accurately
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite (at least intermediate level).
- Advanced Excel Skills required
- Strong technical and analytical skills

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- Base Salary: The expected base salary range for this position is $95,000-110,000 per year depending on experience, paid semi-monthly.
- Bonus: This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus
